Empire Welding was engaged to assemble and install the BP Kwinana White Oil Pipeline (KWOL) truss bridge spanning the Canning River as part of the Thornlie Cockburn Link under the Metronet program.
The works involved assembly of 11 prefabricated lattice truss sections, installation of 125 metres of 12” pipeline, and construction of both an anti-vandal pipeline enclosure and anti-throw protection screens. During delivery, our team re-engineered the floor plate installation methodology to eliminate hot works, improving safety and efficiency on site.
The project was completed on schedule and within budget, with zero harm to personnel and no impact to the surrounding environmentally sensitive wetlands.
